DIGITAL ANNOUNCES ALTAVISTA INTERNET SECURITY PRODUCTS FOR INTEL PLATFORMS ...AltaVista Firewall and AltaVista Tunnel now available on Windows NT and BSD/OS... MAYNARD, Mass. -- Aug. 28, 1996 -- Digital Equipment Corp. today announced new members of the AltaVista Security family -- industrial-strength Tunnel and Firewall products on Intel platforms. These products implement the AltaVista OnSite Computing vision, which enables cyberworkers to access critical business information from any location at any time. AltaVista Security products allow users to simply and cost-effectively protect private networks from the Internet and create secure Virtual Private Networks (VPN) over the Internet. In addition, the company announced that AltaVista Firewall has been certified by the National Computing Security Association (NCSA) as the industry's first approved firewall on Windows NT. "We're pleased to offer the simplicity and security of the respected AltaVista Firewall and AltaVista Tunnel products on both Intel and Alpha platforms," said Ilene H. Lang, vice president of Digital's Internet Software Business Unit.
